Mike Daniel is a former South Carolina Lieutenant Governor and member of the South Carolina House of Representatives. Mr. Daniel served in the House for 10 years, serving on various committees, including the Judiciary Committee where he served as First Vice-Chairman. Additionally, while serving in the House of Representatives, he was elected by his fellow members to serve as Speaker Pro Tempore.
During his term as Lieutenant Governor, Mr. Daniel led four trade missions to the Far East and was instrumental in bringing South Carolina from 44th to 14th in the nation in terms of small business environment as ranked by Inc. Magazine. He also played a key role in locating literacy programs in every county of South Carolina and in developing the Film office in the state.
Mr. Daniel is currently a member of the South Carolina and American Bar Associations, and practices in administrative law and legislative affairs, corporate law, and international law. He is highly active, representing clients before state administrative agencies and legislative bodies. He attended The Citadel and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. He received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Mr. Daniel served as First Lieutenant in the United States Army, and he is now a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the South Carolina National Guard.
